According to Lompech, Lugansky’s playing was marked by its exquisite delicacy in phrasing, supple touch, and intelligent sensitivity, creating an inapproachable beauty. His interpretations of Mendelssohn’s Songs without Words and Chopin’s Ballade op. 47, Nocturne in D flat, and Ballade op. 52 were particularly noted for their elegance and eloquence.
